JOB SPEC – HEAD OF SALES
 
 
 
Job Function: Direct the Sales Department’s operations in order to achieve the company’s overall new capital financed, average weighted yield and market penetration targets via the management of vendor/supplier relationships, support service providers and the management of reporting staff.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Interact with stakeholders, shareholders, as well as major suppliers.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within target marketsMarket the company’s products and capabilities maximizing financing opportunities
  • Maintain and grow existing markets
  • Recommend the pricing policies for the various distribution channels
  • Ensure tight control of special factor requests
  • Ensure compliance to agreed service requirements
  • Promote new products/services and offering innovative deal structures
  • Visit and maintain visibility at vendors, new targeted business units and dealers
  • Participate in supplier sales training
  • Assist Sales staff with proposals
  • Evaluate declined deals and appeal where appropriate
  • Define and communicate Staff Key Result Areas, review these and provide regular feedback
  • Monitor staff performance and productivity by conducting 2 (two) performance appraisals per year and holding monthly one-on-one meetings
  • Training of staff in terms of identified training and development needs
  • Participate in staff complement and selection decisions, whilst addressing the Employment Equity objective
  • Approve payment of monthly sales commissions
  • Provide input for the Monthly Management Letter
  • Participate in Stratco and Management meetings
  • Monitor expenses in order to ensure expenses reduction
     
 Education:
  • Relevant business related/financial tertiary qualification at post graduate level
Experience:
  • 8 - 10 years experience in a general financial services environment
