Retha obtained her B-Tech (Marketing) degree in 1992 and also completed her Chartered Associate of the Institute of Bankers (CAIB SA) with an Advanced Credit Diploma. She started her career at Volkskas Bank as a Balancing Clerk and worked in several operational areas. Retha joined United Bank as a Portfolio Manager for 3 years after which she decided to change direction and specialised in risk management. During 2001 she joined the Absa Group Credit: Strategy and Design Compliance Services as a Credit Audit Consultant. In 2003 Retha was appointed as a Business Design Integrator at Group Credit: Business Change Enablement. During this time Retha also completed a diploma in Financial Management and attained a National Diploma: Project Management. She joined Fintech in December 2006 as the Risk Manager. In September 2007 she was promoted to the management team as Project Manager and was appointed Head : Credit in May 2012.
